In this video, Al Vann addresses a number of issues and declares that he will win Tuesday's election "overwhelmingly."
His opponent Mark Winston Griffith in fact conceded, in a previously posted video, that his effort is an uphill one. That's because, he said, Vann is running on the Democratic line that is an almost instinctive pull-down for many in Bedford Stuyvesant and other communities.
But, man oh man, this race is full of suspense and interest for those who love Bedford Stuyvesant, a place with a beautiful history and one of the country's best-known black communities, albeit one that is changing demographically even as you read this, which is to say, of course, that it is being gentrified from the center to the peripheries.
Before the video, here are links to previous posts on this topic: audio of Charles Barron announcing surprise backing of Griffith; Vann giving cold shoulder to Barron and the Rev. Al Sharpton (who like Barron backed Griffith); and Vann saying his 35 years as an elected official have brought honor to Bed-Stuy.
Now see and hear the latest Vann video.
