NEW YORK (WABC) -- Today, the Eyewitness News family is remembering our dear friend and colleague, Ted Holtzclaw.
Ted was our operations manager, in charge of all the technical things that allow us to go live from around the corner or around the world.
He died suddenly this morning.
He was just 53 years old.
On behalf of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), former board member Mike Woolfolk (who is also president of the Woolfolk Group, LLC.) issued this statement:
"Ted was a fabulous mentor, not only to those interested in video journalism and other news operations support staff positions, but to anyone seeking his advice, training and help. When I served as NABJ Vice President-Broadcast with oversight of the A& Short Course, I greatly valued Ted's assistance and participation which continued through the most recent program held this past March. He made a lasting impression on the careers of many young and veteran journalists, alike."
