It says The New York Times is finally recognizing Bedford Stuyvesant as an interracial community; and it adds that we may soon see the paper of record paying positive attention to the Stuy. Maybe.
Here's the background:
Back in early July, the Times did a hostile article about Bed-Stuy, saying it was a black community that was not yet ready for white brownstoners.
(BrooklynRon did a column criticizing that story. See "New York Times to Bed-Stuy: You're Not Good Enough Yet for White People.")
More recently, about a week ago The Times did a piece, based on Census figures, showing large numbers of whites had in fact been moving into Bed-Stuy over the past decade.
Today the Amsterdam publishes a BrooklynRon article about the Times two-faced relationship with Bed-Stuy.
