This is one for the books, or, rather, for the video archives.
The spokesperson for Virginia Congressman Eric Cantor, Whip of the House Republicans, sent out an email that is surely one of the most embarrassing missives (or whatever the word for a video version is) ever released on the Hill.
Done by spokesman Brad Dayspring, it lays a voice-over on an old union ad, and it's clearly an effort to belittle unionists pushing Obama's stimulus package.
But wow does it backfire.
The voice is an Italian gangster-sounding union man spewing f-words as he boosts the good works of sanitation employees, cross walk guards and others. It'll go over well on The Daily Show or Saturday Night Lives, though even they might have to bleep out a bit.The video ends with proper fade-out, voice blurting: "AFSCME, the fuckin' union that works for you!"
One thing: Cantor may be a little red-faced, but it's not like he's losing any union votes. Not like he ever had any.
