And here it is again, the Dow, jumping upwards and causing financial news commentators (call them Wall Street boosters) to giggle and deliriously celebrate the "best four week run since 1933."
This occurs as we received reports that more than 660,000 jobs were lost last month, with accompanying signs that joblessness will worsen. (Or would Wall Streeters say "will improve"?)
Giving them their grudging due as human beings, we might note observations that Wall Streeters often see the light at the end of the tunnel before others do. That is to say, that they sense and reflect the end of a recession before everyday folks do.
They are, we might perhaps say, the tunnel rats with the long vision and the snarly faces.
