Yes, many New Yorkers may soon find themselves to be like Charlie in the old Kingston Trio song, "The Man Who Never Returned."
That song, which I used to sing whenever I rode the Boston MTA, recalls the time when a fare hike shook Boston and its workaday citizens.
Like the just-passed MTA increase is threatening to do now to working New Yorkers.
Here's what one of the Trio says as he introduces the song: "The Metropolitan Transportation Authority -- better known as the MTA -- is attempting to levy a burdensome tax on the population in the form of a subway fare increase. Citizens, hear me out!"
